The Ascq 1944 Memorial commemorates the massacre of 86 civilians by soldiers of the 12th SS Hitlerjugend division, on the night of 1 to 2 April 1944.
Installed on the main site of the executions, the Memorial Ascq 1944 evokes the event and places it in the history of the Occupation of the North of France.
The Memorial is also a place to reflect on the plight of civilians during war. He wants to bring a message for peace, tolerance and brotherhood among men.
