Architectural meeting at the media library

On Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at 6:30 p.m., for their fourth edition, the architectural meetings of the Médiathèque invite you to discover the «garden terraces» houses in the Château district.
Organized in the early 1970s, the Innovation Models campaign aimed to renew French collective housing construction and open it up to innovation, starting with mass production. The new town of Villeneuve d'Ascq was a privileged site, with the implementation of three operations from the model Maisons Gradins Jardins proposed by architects Michel Andrault and Pierre Parat. Available in a linear, pyramidal or roofed configuration, these buildings offer the qualities of a single-family home at the price of collective social housing.
The meeting will be hosted by Caroline Bauer, teacher at ENSAPL, Lille’s national school of architecture and landscape.
